Kelanawisata.id, Wonosobo – The Slukatan Coffee Forum, held as part of the post-harvest celebration for Slukatan coffee enthusiasts, took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere at the Mudal Spring in Slukatan Village, Mojotengah, Wonosobo, on Monday August 31. The event, which ran from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., served as an opportunity to highlight the potential of local coffee while showcasing the diverse attractions of Slukatan Tourism Village.

Throughout the event, local residents and tourists in attendance were treated to free Slukatan coffee. In addition to enjoying the coffee, visitors were also able to interact with the community and coffee enthusiasts, as well as take in the rural natural surroundings near Mudal Springs.

The Head of the Wonosobo Regency Tourism and Culture Office, Fahmi Hidayat, was present in the afternoon to observe the event. Fahmi was accompanied by the Head of the Tourism Attractions Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) as well as representatives from the Tourism and Creative Economy Division of Disparbud Wonosobo.

During his visit, Fahmi sampled the local coffee served by the Slukatan coffee enthusiasts. He also engaged in discussions with the tourism village managers, local residents, and coffee enthusiasts to learn about the progress, potential, and various efforts that have been made to develop the Slukatan Tourism Village.

Fahmi expressed his appreciation for the Slukatan Coffee Gathering. According to him, the event is not only a way to give thanks for the coffee harvest but also serves as a platform to promote the village’s potential while strengthening community solidarity.

“Events like this are very positive. Coffee isn’t just about taste; it also carries the stories of farmers, nature, and the community. When integrated into tourism activities, it can certainly offer an engaging experience for visitors,” said Fahmi.

He also offered several suggestions and insights to the managers of the tourism village and the Slukatan coffee enthusiasts. Fahmi encouraged the continued development of local coffee’s potential—in terms of product quality, presentation, service, and promotion through digital media.

In addition to offering suggestions, Fahmi also provided encouragement and motivation to the community to continue developing the various potentials of the Slukatan Tourism Village.

“We express our appreciation and offer encouragement to the tourism village managers, the community, and the Slukatan coffee enthusiasts. Keep developing, keep innovating, and present it well. Don’t stop at just the event itself, but focus on how the existing potential can grow sustainably and benefit the community,” he added.

Survey of Unexplored Waterfall Sites

In addition to visiting the Coffee Forum venue, Fahmi also took the opportunity to explore other natural tourist attractions in the Slukatan Tourism Village area. One of these is a waterfall site that, to date, remains largely unknown to both the local community and tourists.

This inspection was part of an effort to directly assess the potential that can be developed and packaged into new tourist attractions in the Slukatan Tourism Village.

Fahmi praised the various natural attractions in Slukatan and encouraged their development to proceed gradually while prioritizing safety, environmental sustainability, community readiness, and a sustainable tourism management approach.

In his view, natural attractions like waterfalls can offer tourists additional options, especially if they can eventually be integrated with other established attractions, including coffee, local culture, and village life.

Golek Tholo Revived as an Educational Tourism Package

In addition to the area’s natural beauty and coffee, Fahmi also commended the efforts of the community and the managers of Slukatan Tourism Village in reviving one of the cultural heritage sites, namely Golek Tholo.

The effort to revive Golek Tholo is seen as a positive step in preserving local culture while introducing it to the younger generation and tourists.

Interestingly, Golek Tholo is not only being preserved as an art form or tradition but is also being incorporated into educational tourism packages. Through this concept, tourists can gain a deeper understanding of local culture while appreciating the values embedded within it.

Fahmi expressed his appreciation for this initiative. In his view, the development of a tourism village will be even stronger if it can combine natural resources, culture, local products, and community activities into a holistic tourism experience.

“This is what’s interesting—how existing cultural potential is not only preserved but also packaged into an educational experience for tourists. Golek Tholo can become part of the story of Slukatan Tourism Village and be introduced to both the younger generation and tourists,” he explained.

Fahmi hopes that these various potentials can continue to be developed through collaboration among the community, tourism village managers, the government, creative economy actors, and various other stakeholders.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Hafid, the manager of Slukatan Tourism Village, said his team continues to work on developing the village’s various potentials, ranging from nature tourism and coffee to culture. For out-of-town visitors, Slukatan Tourism Village also offers homestays with a “live-in” concept, allowing tourists to experience firsthand the atmosphere and daily activities of the village community.
