Kelanawisata.id, Wonosobo - Tourists took advantage of the 2026 Eid holiday to visit educational destinations, one of which was the Wonosobo Regional Museum. Since its official launch on March 17, 2026, the museum has seen high enthusiasm from the public and tourists eager to learn more about the history and culture of Wonosobo.

Located on the second floor of the Tourist Information Center (TIC) building in the Kalianget Recreation Park area, the museum serves as a tourist destination that is not only recreational but also educational for people of all ages. Sri Rejeki, Head of the UPTD for Tourism Site Management at the Wonosobo Tourism and Culture Office, stated that the increase in visitor numbers during the Eid al-Fitr holiday serves as a positive indicator of public interest in historical tourism.

‎In her statement on Saturday, March 28, 2026, she said,

‎“Since it opened on March 17, visits to the museum have continued to rise, especially during the Eid al-Fitr holiday. We’ve seen very high enthusiasm among the public to come, learn, and get to know Wonosobo’s history more closely.”

‎She added that the Wonosobo Regency Regional Museum features various collections showcasing both tangible cultural objects (artifacts) and intangible cultural heritage as representations of the region’s long journey. Additionally, the museum provides information on local wisdom, community traditions, and Wonosobo’s tourism potential.

‎“Through this museum, we aim to provide an engaging and easily accessible educational space for the public. We hope that the younger generation, in particular, will come to better understand and cherish the history of their own region,” he added.

‎Meanwhile, the Head of the Wonosobo Regency Tourism and Culture Office, Fahmi Hidayat, commended the high level of public interest in visiting the regional museum, particularly during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period.

‎‎“The presence of the Wonosobo Regional Museum is part of our efforts to strengthen the tourism sector based on education and culture. The public’s enthusiasm during this Eid al-Fitr holiday serves as motivation for us to continue improving the quality of museum services and management,” he stated.
‎He also emphasized that museums serve as a vital tool for preserving and safeguarding local identity.

‎“Through the museum, we not only display historical artifacts but also convey the values, stories, and identity of the Wonosobo community to future generations and visiting tourists,” added Fahmi.

‎‎With an informative presentation concept and a strategic location within the Kalianget Recreation Park area, this museum is integrated with tourist destinations already familiar to the public. This further strengthens the area’s appeal as a center for both recreation and education.

‎‎Moving forward, it is hoped that the existence of the Wonosobo Regency Regional Museum can catalyze the development of similar museums or other thematic museums across various regions. Thus, efforts to preserve history, culture, and local wisdom can expand further, while simultaneously strengthening the appeal of educational tourism in Wonosobo Regency.

‎‎The Wonosobo Regency Government, through the museum’s management, invites the public and tourists to take advantage of the holiday season by visiting the Wonosobo Regency Museum. In addition to broadening one’s knowledge, this visit also serves as a form of support for the preservation of local history and culture.
‎‎“Come on, make time to visit the Wonosobo Regional Museum. Make your vacation not only enjoyable but also meaningful by gaining a deeper understanding of the region’s historical and cultural heritage,” concluded Fahmi.*
