These monitoring and inspection activities are being conducted to ensure that destination managers and tourism businesses are prepared to handle the surge in tourist visits during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

As explained by the Head of the Wonosobo Regency Tourism and Culture Office, Fahmi Hidayat, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, this activity is also part of the efforts to disseminate and implement the Wonosobo Regent’s Circular Letter regarding the Organization of Safe, Comfortable, and Enjoyable Tourism Activities during the Eid al-Fitr Holiday and the Festival of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026 M.

“The Eid al-Fitr holiday is one of the periods with very high levels of public mobility, including tourists visiting Wonosobo. Therefore, we are conducting on-site monitoring to ensure the readiness of tourist destinations and tourism businesses so they can provide safe, comfortable, and enjoyable tourism services,” said Fahmi.

According to him, this activity is also a follow-up to the Wonosobo Regent’s Circular Letter, which urges all tourism stakeholders to enhance their preparedness in anticipation of a potential surge in tourist visits during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period.

Fahmi added that the tourism sector in Wonosobo Regency plays a strategic role in driving local economic growth, creating jobs, and improving community well-being. Therefore, collaboration between the local government, business operators, and the community is key to creating a high-quality tourism experience.

“We hope that all tourism destination managers, tourism entrepreneurs, and tourism villages can adhere to applicable operational standards, ranging from hygiene, health, and safety to environmental sustainability. This is important so that tourists feel safe and comfortable during their visit to Wonosobo,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Tourism Destinations Division at the Wonosobo Tourism and Culture Office, Hapipi, explained that during the monitoring activity, the office’s team also issued several recommendations to tourism business operators to comply with operational standards and pay attention to risk mitigation measures.

According to him, key areas of focus in the monitoring include the implementation of the Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) standards, the readiness of tourist facilities and attractions, the availability of information for tourists, and the management of environmental cleanliness at the destination.

“We ensure that destination managers have implemented the applicable SOPs, conducted inspections of tourist facilities, and prepared service and security staff for tourists. Additionally, we urge managers to consider the destination’s carrying capacity to prevent overcrowding,” explained Hapipi.

He also emphasized the importance of coordination among stakeholders in ensuring tourist safety, including collaboration with security personnel, healthcare workers, and disaster management agencies.

The Wonosobo Tourism and Culture Office is also encouraging the public and tourists to help maintain safety, order, and cleanliness at tourist destinations during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period.

Through these monitoring activities, the Wonosobo Regency Government hopes that all tourist destinations and tourism businesses will provide optimal service, ensuring that the tourism experience in Wonosobo remains safe, comfortable, and enjoyable for all visitors during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday.
