Kelanawisata.id, Wonosobo – The 2026 SiBOBa Hot Air Balloon Festival, themed “A Waste-Free Homecoming Festival,” was successfully held at Kartika Buana Field in Bojasari Village, Kertek Subdistrict, on Wednesday (March 25, 2026). This event was part of the 2026 Wonosobo Homecoming Festival series, which garnered widespread public attention.

The event was attended by the Assistant for General Administration of the Wonosobo Regency Secretariat, Dr. Mohamad Riyatno, M.Kes., the Head of the Procurement and Budgeting Division of the Secretariat, Endang Susila, S.T., as well as a representative from the Kertek Subdistrict Head. The presence of these stakeholders demonstrated the government’s support for preserving the hot air balloon tradition while also developing the local tourism sector.

A total of 35 hot air balloons were successfully launched in an orderly manner while prioritizing safety. No balloons were reported to have drifted away, nor were there any fire incidents during the event. Additionally, traffic conditions around the venue were smooth and under control, ensuring a comfortable experience for visitors.

The public’s enthusiasm was evident from the number of visitors, which reached approximately 4,000 people. Visitors came not only from the local community but also from various regions across Indonesia, such as Papua, Sulawesi, Palembang, West Sumatra, Jakarta, Surabaya, Lamongan, Semarang, and Purworejo.

The festival’s festivities were further enhanced by the participation of approximately 120 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) offering a variety of local culinary specialties and handicrafts. It is estimated that this event generated an economic turnover of approximately Rp30 million.

By adopting an eco-friendly concept, the 2026 SiBOBa Festival is expected to serve not only as a venue for entertainment and cultural preservation but also to raise public awareness of the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness, particularly during the annual homecoming season.

Moving forward, this festival is expected to remain a flagship event for Wonosobo Regency, further fueling the growth of the creative economy and elevating the region’s tourism profile nationwide.
