Kelanawisata.id, Solo – “A cup of coffee, a heap of stories,” said Wendy, the third generation who now maintains the legacy of a legendary café in the heart of Pasar Gede, Solo. In a corner of the market stands Kopi Podjok, a place that seems timeless. Founded by Liem A Meen in 1967, this coffee shop has become a small space full of aroma and memories passed down through generations.

“My name is Wendy from Kopi Podjok Pasar Gede, Solo. This shop has existed since 1967, started by my grandfather, who has been running this place until now. I am the third generation,” she said. Here, coffee lovers can find a variety of Nusantara coffees, ranging from robusta to arabica from Gayo, Mandailing, Sidikalang, Flores, as well as various coffees from Java and Bali.

Wendy shared that the coffee drinking trend has now transformed into a continuously evolving lifestyle. However, even though the modern coffee world moves quickly, Kopi Podjok continues to maintain its traditional processing methods. Dozens of types of coffee are still ground using old tools that have accompanied the cafe's journey for decades, delivering an authentic flavor that is hard to find elsewhere.

More than just a cafe, Toko Kopi Podjok is a fragment of Solo city’s memory, where the aroma of coffee and warm conversations meet in a small corner space in the market. If friends of Kelana visit Solo, don’t forget to stop by Kopi Podjok Pasar Gede to enjoy a cup of an enduring story.
