Kelanawisata.id, Wonosobo – The tourist route leading to the Dieng Plateau via Wonosobo Regency is confirmed to be safe and comfortable for travelers. The Wonosobo Regency government, together with relevant parties, continues to ensure smooth access for visitors wishing to travel to this highland area.
In addition to the main route from Wonosobo City to Dieng, tourists can also use an alternative route from Temanggung to Dieng via the Tambi area in Wonosobo. This route is a favorite because it offers beautiful natural scenery along the way.
The fastest route from Temanggung to Dieng can be taken via the Ngadirejo–Canggal route, covering a distance of approximately 47 kilometers and taking about 1.5 hours. Along the way, tourists will be treated to picturesque mountain scenery, including expansive tea plantations in the Tambi Tea Plantation area.
Road widening has also been carried out at several points along this route, particularly around the Sikathok Tea Plantation area. This route is suitable for small vehicles; however, for large buses, it is recommended to use the Parakan–Kledung–Kertek route for safety and comfort.
Alternatively, travelers can take the Temanggung–Kledung–Candiyasan route to the Blembem tourist area. Along this route, you’ll be treated to panoramic mountain views and pass through several destinations, such as Telaga Bedakah and the Gunung Cilik area, before reaching the Dieng tourist area.
The main route from Wonosobo City to Dieng is also becoming increasingly comfortable to travel. Recently, the Central Java Provincial Government completed repairs and repaving of this road section, resulting in a smoother surface that enhances the comfort of travelers’ journeys.

Fahmi Hidayat, Head of the Wonosobo Regency Tourism and Culture Office, stated on Saturday, March 7, 2026, that the road leading to Dieng is currently safe and ready to welcome tourists.
“The tourist route to Dieng through Wonosobo Regency—whether from Wonosobo City or via the alternative route from Temanggung through Tambi—is safe and passable. In addition, the main road from Wonosobo to Dieng has been paved in several sections, making the journey smoother and more comfortable for tourists,” he explained.
Fahmi also urged tourists to remain safety-conscious during their journey, given the nature of the road to Dieng, which is located in a mountainous area with steep inclines and sharp curves.
“We recommend that travelers inspect their vehicles before setting out, ensuring that the brakes, engine, and fuel are in good condition. Additionally, if they feel tired while driving, travelers can take advantage of the rest areas available along the route to Dieng,” he added.
With safe and comfortable road conditions, as well as captivating natural scenery, the journey to the Dieng Plateau via Wonosobo is expected to be not only a means of access to the tourist destination but also a part of an enjoyable travel experience for visitors.

For your information, reports on social media regarding a landslide that has cut off access to Dieng are known to have occurred on the alternative route through the Pejawaran–Batur (Dieng) area in Banjarnegara Regency.
