Kelanawisata.id, Wonosobo - In celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 AH, the residents of Garung Hamlet, Butuh Village, Kalikajar Subdistrict, Wonosobo Regency will perform the Eid al-Fitr prayer in congregation at Garung Field, set against a breathtaking natural backdrop: the majestic slopes of Mount Sindoro.

‎Garung Hamlet Field has become one of the locations that frequently goes viral on social media during the Eid al-Fitr prayer. The beauty of Mount Sindoro’s panorama, combined with the expanse of worshippers and the cool morning atmosphere, creates a moment of worship that is both solemn and captivating, consistently drawing attention and being widely shared by netizens every year.‎

‎This year’s Eid al-Fitr prayer carries the theme “Celebrate Victory with a Captivating View”; the event invites the community to celebrate the day of victory in a cool, tranquil, and deeply devout open-air setting.

‎The vast open field with the mountains as a backdrop serves as a unique attraction, making the worship experience even more memorable. Not only local residents but also people from other cities and even abroad are curious to experience this Eid prayer with Wonosobo’s natural ambiance.

‎‎Beyond serving as a venue for worship, this event also serves as an opportunity to strengthen Islamic brotherhood among residents and foster a sense of community within society.

The committee chair, Yakup Ari Wibowo, announced that the Eid al-Fitr prayer in his village will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. WIB, with the event centered at Garung Field, Butuh Village, Kalikajar Subdistrict, Wonosobo (near the base camp for climbing Mount Sumbing via Garung).

‎Abdul Aziz Ma’arif will serve as the imam and khatib, delivering a sermon with a spiritual message about the meaning of victory after completing the Ramadan fast.

‎To enhance the comfort and solemnity of the prayer, the committee, in collaboration with the Butuh Village Government, has expanded the prayer area. This effort is expected to accommodate up to 50% more worshippers compared to the previous year.

‎To manage the number of worshippers, the committee will implement an entry gate system that will close precisely at 6:00 AM. Therefore, the public is urged to arrive early. For worshippers unable to enter the field area, several mosques around the village—such as Al Amin Mosque, Al Falah Mosque, and Al Mansyur Mosque—have been prepared as alternative locations for Eid al-Fitr prayers.

‎‎Kalikajar Subdistrict Head Aldhiana emphasized that his office is also encouraging residents to actively welcome guests and tourists with a friendly attitude, maintain environmental cleanliness, and work together to create a safe, orderly, and conducive atmosphere.

‎ “We urge all Eid prayer attendees to arrive early and not to force their way in once the gates have closed, in order to maintain the solemnity of the service,” he said.

‎‎Aldhiana also encouraged visitors to explore the diverse tourist attractions in the Kalikajar area. These range from the beauty of the Jalisu area and the natural charm of Curug Mangku Klowoh to various other natural destinations that are equally captivating.

Not only that, the festivities will continue with a hot air balloon festival held at the same location the following day. This hot air balloon festival will also take place in several villages in Kalikajar Subdistrict, such as Kembaran, Lamuk, Simbang, Tempelsari, and Mangunrejo, which are ready to provide a more memorable Eid tourism experience for both locals and tourists.

‎Meanwhile, the Head of the Wonosobo Regency Tourism and Culture Office, Fahmi Hidayat, stated that Garung Field will not only serve as a place of worship but will also become a hub for exciting activities during this year’s Eid celebrations.

‎“On March 22–23, 2026, Garung Village Field will be one of the venues for the 2026 Homecoming Festival, which is being held at this field for the first time, with the theme ‘Flying Together with the Wonosobo Balloon Community,’ serving as a unique local attraction and a form of tradition preservation,” he explained.

He added that the event is designed to offer a unique journey for visitors by seamlessly blending religious and cultural heritage with the region's natural beauty in a single, cohesive experience.

‎“This Eid al-Fitr celebration is not only a time for socializing but also an opportunity to showcase Wonosobo’s tourism potential. Garung Field serves as an example of how open spaces can be utilized for both religious activities and high-quality tourism events,” he added.

‎Furthermore, Fahmi also urged the public to work together to maintain order, cleanliness, and safety throughout the series of activities.

‎“We hope all visitors can enjoy every moment comfortably and help preserve the environment so that the beauty of this area remains intact,” he concluded.*
